GARDEN BUNGALOW

Garden Bungalow is our first ready-to-build home design, developed in collaboration with BuiltQuik.

Designed for a typical 14-16 m wide housing-estate lot and aligned with Complying Development requirements, Garden Bungalow rethinks the familiar project-home model through a more considered architectural lens.

The plan prioritises cross-ventilation, private garden outlooks and generous ceiling heights, with a series of small, carefully calibrated moments that enrich everyday living. All of this is contained within a simple, robust envelope that takes cues from successful bungalow typologies of the past - familiar, adaptable and quietly confident.

The simple gable form of the Garden Bungalow is 'carved' away to create pocket gardens that allow the house to breathe and provide private outlooks for bedrooms and living areas. This strategy also delivers a rich variety of spaces within an easy to build structure.

The central courtyard separates a small bedroom wing near the entry. We envision this as children's bedrooms, or a guest bedroom and study. The separation also improves the potential to cater for multi-generational family living with privacy and dignity.

Garden Bungalow offers something different without drawing attention to itself. It's a good neighbour.
