PARK HOUSE

This project centres on an impressive heritage-listed bungalow opposite Sydney’s Centennial Park. While the original house displayed a high level of craftsmanship, it was constrained by limited access to natural light and a series of disconnected living spaces.

Working closely with our heritage and planning consultants, the design responds carefully to the character and planning controls of the original bungalow. The scheme introduces new open-plan living areas and a discreet upper level that accommodates additional bedrooms and ensuites, while remaining respectful of the home’s original fabric.

At the rear of the site, a secondary dwelling and garage have been developed, with private access provided from the laneway.

The architectural form builds on the timber detailing of the existing gabled roof, extending this language to create a series of distinctive vertical windows. These elements enhance natural light while carefully managing privacy and sun shading at the upper level.
